PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs are in the process of restoring fish passage around Deschutes River dams, providing energy that is both clean and green. For the first time since 1968, there will be salmon and steelhead in the Metolius, Crooked and upper Deschutes Rivers. |

Background |

PGE and the Confederated Tribes are building a 273-foot underwater tower to restore salmon and steelhead passage to the Upper Deschutes, Metolius and Crooked Rivers. In collaboration with 22 organizations, both parties are committed to fish-related improvements on the Deschutes for the next 50 years. |

Underwater Tower |

This unique 273-foot underwater tower, built by PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, will restore salmon and steelhead passage to the Upper Deschutes, Metolius and Crooked Rivers. This may be the only structure in the world that combines fish collection and water flows for power generation. |

Supporting Projects |

To support the return of salmon and steelhead to the Upper Deschutes, Metolius and Crooked Rivers, PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs have committed over $20 million to habitat restoration. |

Fish & Fishing |
|
PGE and the Confederated Tribes are restoring fish passage to the Metolius, Crooked River and upper Deschutes. If all goes well, this project will eventually open up an additional 226 stream miles of upriver fishing. |
